Privacy Policy

FoodHandlerGear ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Information you provide: if you email us, we receive your email address and message content so we can respond.
- Automatically collected information: our hosting provider may log basic technical data (such as pages visited, browser type, and approximate location) for security and performance purposes, and Google Analytics collects the usage data described below.
Practice tests and tools
Our free practice tests run entirely in your browser, and the answers you pick are never sent to us or to anyone else. To learn which tests help, we record a few events in Google Analytics: that a test was started or finished, how many questions it had, your overall score and whether it reached 70%, and which study links you clicked. Nothing about your answers is stored after you leave the page.
The expiration calculator works the same way. The dates you enter stay in your browser; Google Analytics records only the type of certificate, whether it is still valid, and whether you added a calendar reminder.
Email updates
If you sign up for one of our free checklists or cheat sheets, we store your email address with Resend, the service that sends our email, and use it only to send you that download, a short follow-up email (for restaurant owners, about written procedures and our own templates; for exam-takers, about choosing a manager exam), Food Code updates, and the occasional email about our own templates. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time by emailing tinylaunchpadlab@gmail.com.
Cookies and third parties
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and how they found the site, so we can improve the guides. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, the links you click (for example, to a course or a product), how long you stay, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. It does not receive your name or email address, and it never sees your practice test answers. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking analytics scripts in your browser.
Amazon affiliate links. We use Amazon affiliate links. When you click one, Amazon may set cookies to track the referral so we can earn a commission on qualifying purchases. Amazon's use of that data is governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except as needed to operate the site (e.g., our hosting provider).
Your choices
You can contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you or to request its deletion.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
